NO SENIOR OR THEIR PET SHOULD EVER GO HUNGRY

 In the fall of 2018, the dream of helping seniors and their pets became a reality.

Initial grant funding through PetSmart Charities enabled us to begin providing pet food to seniors receiving services through Meals on Wheels Wilkes County.

Senior pet owners must often choose between food and care for themselves or providing for their beloved companions.

Many will use their food stamps to provide food for their pets because they can’t afford pet food. 

Some put off needed medical care because there is no one to care for their pet.

PAWS wants to make sure that seniors and their pets can remain at home together….safe and healthy.

Over the next two years our goal is to assist clients with grooming, vaccinations, spay/neuter costs, emergency medical treatment, emergency foster care, and rehoming.

You can help by donating:

•   Dry and wet food

•   Food and water bowls

•   Treats (hard and soft)

•   Gift Cards (PetSmart, Dollar General, Walmart)

•   12 and 20 gallon totes (for building cat houses)

•   Toys

•   Tie out stakes and leads

•   Pee pads

MONETARY DONATIONS

100% of donations are used to purchase goods and services for pets.  Pet supplies are delivered by staff and Meals on Wheels volunteers.
