Head Start provides comprehensive child development services in the center-based setting. Activities are provided to help meet the child’s developmental needs and to foster their social competence. The facilities comply with Federal, State and local licensing requirements.

The BROC Head Start program has five centers. One center, Gap Civil Head Start, is located in Alleghany County.  Ashe County is the home of Sizemore Head Start. Three centers are located in Wilkes County: Cub Creek, Lomax and North Wilkesboro.
